About the project
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) needed a solution to manage and centralize data from smart meters installed in buildings across the Netherlands. At the time, there was no central system to collect and share this data with third parties. The goal of the Datastelsel Werkelijk Energie Utiliteit (DSWEU) Proof of Concept (PoC) was to securely manage and share real energy usage data.
Challenge
1. Lack of centralized data management: Smart meters collected data, but there was no system to centralize or manage this information. 2. Secure data sharing: Ensuring that energy data could be securely shared with third-party providers. 3. Unprecedented solution: As the first of its kind, the PoC was a test of how these systems could work together seamlessly.
Solution
1. Centralized data management: Created a system to collect, manage, and store data from smart meters. 2. Secure data sharing: Implemented a secure method for sharing real-time energy data with third parties. 3. Proof of Concept: Tested the feasibility of this system before a broader implementation.
Result
Yearly consumption reports: Users could now access reports on actual energy usage. Successful data sharing: The PoC demonstrated how energy data could be securely shared with third parties, paving the way for future systems.
